Duties
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Overhead Door Technician located in the greater Virginia Beach area.
We are an overhead door company that is based out of Virginia Beach and are looking to add to our work force.
This is the perfect job for a General Contractor looking to stay busy , or an overhead door technician that is looking to expand their workload.
Responsibilities:
- Overhead hurricane shutters are located all throughout the Hampton Roads area.
Over time these shutters require maintenance whether it is dismantling, cleaning, lubricating, and reinstalling currently functioning shutters.
Or having to remove an older generation shutter at the end of its life, and installing a new one from the factory.
-We are looking for someone who can show up to previously installed hurricane/security shutters, diagnose the issue a shutter may have, and being able to resolve the issue in an effective and time efficient manner.
- In the case of installing a new shutter over an opening, we need a technician that can show up to residential and commercial job opportunities to gather accurate and organized measurements that can be given to our quoting team for efficient quotes to customers.
Being able to control a new install job site.
Including using blueprints and measurements to install new hurricane shutters on residential homes is pivotal.
- Due to the nature of the work, often times we are covering windows that are not accessible via the ground.
Because of this we require our technicians to be comfortable working on elevated surfaces including scaffolding, ladders, balconies, and boom lifts.
Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Organizational: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Product Management: Understand or have construction experience working with aluminum or various building materials.
- Have basic electrical experience with running wires from installed shutters to an energy source.
Being able to diagnose an electrical deficiency to a shutter when on a service call is expected.
- Being comfortable in working on constructions sites.
Including saws, drills, and other high-powered tools.
