*Job Summary:*
Responsible for the performance of the shipping department and its employees in assigned building.
*Primary Responsibilities:*
* Understand job specifics as it relates to customer expectations.
* Organize workload as required to accomplish jobs as effectively and efficiently as possible.
* Ensure employees have resources needed to perform tasks.
* Enforce safety standards & Shipping specific SOP.
* Ability to operate Forklift and safely load/unload trucks and handle materials.
* Coordinate with other area supervisors to ensure job completion in its totality.
* Ability to handle the finished product in a way as to prevent damage.
* Know the master schedule and load FTL Schedule/LTL Schedule accordingly.
* Validate work released can be shipped properly/safely per drawings and bring up shipping issues as needed.
* Provide FTL coordinator (via the FTL Schedule) with detailed dimensions of each load & estimated weight of entire load.
* Coordinate with Plant Manager and Production Supervisors to meet ship dates and PM/Customer timelines.
* Communicate with all department heads affected as well as all managers and schedulers regarding shipment completion.
* Identify shipping material needs in a timely manner.
* Ensure materials are ordered in a timely manner being sensitive to lead times to avoid material shortages/outages.
* Request material and product transfers from other buildings as required.
* Responsible for ensuring quality of work that exceeds AGI standards.
* Ensure area of responsibility is kept orderly and clean.
* Mentor and train all area employees.
* Set priorities and manage people through day-to-day changes.
* Write up employees that are not meeting standards or adhering to policies.
* Conduct annual performance evaluations on subordinates.
*Job Specifications:*
* Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required
* Experience: 5years of professional experience in shipping operations required; 2 years of experience supervising a team of at least 10 employees
* Computer Skills: Outlook, Microsoft Office experience is required; Experience with an ERP system (EPICOR, SAP) is preferred.
