Job Duties:
The Real Estate Assessor's Office is looking to hire a Real Estate Transfer Clerk I to perform clerical duties to assist in the maintenance of the City's real estate title and tax records.
Duties will include, but not limited to:
Read, interpret and record data from deeds, wills, list of heirs and death certificates to update and/or correct real estate parcel records.
Read and interpret subdivision plats and land descriptions in real estate documents.
Research land and title to obtain correct information for updating files.
Answer inquiries from surveyors, real estate agents, lawyers, other City departments, mortgage companies and the public.
Assist in clerical and receptionist duties for the department including responding to customer inquiries, mass mailings, deed and plat processing and support of assessment staff.
Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less.
Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on then current workloads and department needs.

Minimum Requirements:
MINIMUMS: High school or GED plus one (1) year experience in fields providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities, such as work in real estate transfers and title research; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.

Preferences:
Experience working with deeds, maps and plats.
Experience working in Assessment Office.
Experience using Mass Appraisal Software.
Two years of formal education above High School.
Two years customer service experience working with property owners to resolve conflict.
Experience in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Share Point and Power Point.
