Leasing Consultant – Virginia Beach, VA

We are currently accepting applications for a Leasing Consultant position in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Qualified applicants must have previous leasing and/or customer service experience.
This full-time position requires availability Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM.

The successful leasing consultant will:
Perform activities related to apartment rental and renewal: Providing apartment tours; Qualifying prospective residents; Preparing LIHTC and Section 8 documentation; Completing move-in procedures; Meeting with current residents regarding lease renewal and rates
Maintain excellent resident relations: Provide superior customer service; Work with residents to provide solutions; Participate in resident promotions or functions
Represent the property community in a positive manner and convey the benefits of the community to prospective residents
Proactively participate in the team effort to accomplish desired results
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent customer service, follow-up, and follow through skills a must
Ability to communicate effectively in order to communicate issues, problems, ideas, concerns and information on work progress
Ability to interact positively with residents, employees, vendors and the general public
Minimum of two years sales/leasing experience or equivalent preferred
Previous project-based Section 8 and LIHTC experience a must
Ability to follow directives and work with minimum supervision
Familiar with operating office machines i.
e.
fax, copier, binders, etc
Proficient computer skills such as to perform essential functions
Basic math and bookkeeping skills required
Must have basic understanding of the English language, and be able to communicate effectively and professionally
Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record may be required.
