_*JOB DESCRIPTION:*_
We are searching for qualified and self-motivated Certified Medication Aides to join our assisted living facility.
You will perform a variety of patient care duties including administering medication, reporting changes, collecting samples, and recording medication dosages.
The ideal medication aide will be extremely detail-oriented and possess in-depth knowledge of patient care procedures.
Providing excellent patient care is a vital part of this job, which is why excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed.
_*RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT MAY NOT BE LIMITED TO:*_
Assists with the administration of prescribed medications.
Must maintain a working knowledge of all policies and procedures pertaining to the position
Assists residents with activities of daily living to include but not limited to showering, grooming, dressing, eating and toileting.
Reports incidents involving residents to include care concerns or issues to appropriate supervisors
Perform housekeeping duties, such as making resident beds, cleaning resident rooms, common areas, dining room, etc.
as directed by supervisor.
Other duties include cooking and laundry as assigned for your shift.
Respond promptly to all resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts
Assists in planning and conducting activity programs for residents
Follows confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information
Assists residents to and from the dining room, and to and from activities
Checks on residents, ensures attendance at meals and activities
Checks on residents who are ill and reports status or concerns to appropriate individuals
Communicate verbally and in writing to report resident status, upcoming community information, resident appointments, admissions, and transfers
MAY ALSO:
Provide emotional support
Attendance to all medication trainings scheduled
Complete medication cart audits as assigned and maintain the medication cart as directed
Pass all medication administration observations
Communicates all medication resident needs to the HCA and documents in the Daily Log
Re-orders medications, faxes to pharmacy, communicates with resident family/RP as needed with changes.
Reports in Daily Log
Documents all medication administration on the EMAR/MAR.
Reports all exceptions to the Administrator and documented on EMR and Daily Log.
Completes all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

*QAULIFICATIONS:*
Current Medication Technician Certification
Current CPR and First Aid certification with card
High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Assisted Living: 2 years (Preferred)
US work authorization
Ability to pass a background check
Adequate transportation
Must have three professional references
Experience with memory care residents (Preferred)
Ability to make decisions without supervisory experience
Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good understanding of medical and pharmacological terminology
