Job Title: Area Human Resources Director – Shamin Hotels, Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotels
Location: Virginia Beach, VA

With a commitment to excellence in guest service and employee satisfaction, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Area Human Resources Director.
This role will be responsible for overseeing human resources functions for three hotels, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
Highlighted Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Hiring:
Lead the recruitment process for all positions, working closely with hiring managers to identify staffing needs.
Conduct interviews, assess candidates, and facilitate the hiring process.
Performance Management and Progressive Discipline:
Coordinates annual performance appraisal processes.
Provide guidance and support to managers in addressing performance issues through progressive discipline.
Employee Relations:
Engage with employees and managers to maintain a pulse on employee relations matters.
Conduct investigations and resolve employee concerns in a fair and consistent manner.
Onboarding and Offboarding:
Ensure a comprehensive onboarding program for new hire that fosters a welcoming experience for new hires and focuses on benefits and retention.
Manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews and transfers.
Training and Development:
Ensures 100% compliance with all Hilton Brand standard training requirements
Support career development initiatives and succession planning.
Liaison to Corporate HR, Payroll, and Risk Management:
Collaborate with corporate HR to align local strategies with company-wide policies and initiatives.
Ensure consistent implementation of corporate HR programs.
Liaison to corporate support roles
Mitigate HR-related risks by implementing and monitoring compliance measures.
Oversight of HR Assistants:
Provide guidance and supervision to HR assistants.
Coordinate workload distribution and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Employee Engagement:
Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
Foster a positive work culture that aligns with the company's TOP values.
Personnel File Maintenance and Reporting:
Ensure accurate and up-to-date maintenance of personnel files.
Generate HR reports as needed for analysis and decision-making.
Consultation with Employees and Managers:
Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, providing guidance on HR-related matters.
Facilitate effective communication between employees and management.
Qualifications:

Ability to balance multiple priorities and manage time effectively.
Knowledge in Human Resources Management and applicable HR laws and regulations (federal and state).
Knowledge of work visa programs for seasonal hiring.

Technical skills.
Ability to use data in decision-making.
Ability to remain neutral and provide guidance to parties who may be on opposite positions of an issue.

Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited 4-year University with a degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or other related field is strongly preferred.
HR-specific experience or military background may substitute for education.
A minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in human resources is required.
Certification in Human Resources is strongly preferred.
Valid Virginia driver’s license.
