Job Description: Lagerheads Virginia Beach is currently seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team.
As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food items to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
This position requires a strong understanding of cooking techniques, excellent time management skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and specifications.
Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies, including ingredients, utensils, and equipment.
Coordinate food orders with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
Monitor food levels and replenish supplies as needed to maintain station readiness during service.
Ensure that all food products are handled, stored, and prepared safely and in accordance with food safety guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, and utensils.
Follow proper cooking techniques and presentation standards to deliver high-quality dishes to our guests.
Communicate effectively with other kitchen team members and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and reporting any shortages or discrepancies to the Kitchen Manager.
Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role preferred.
Strong understanding of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment operation.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Culinary degree or certification is a plus, but not required.
