A Helping Hand is a professional childcare company that specialize in providing in-home childcare to military and civilian families.
*We are currently seeking dependable, committed and loving in-home babysitters in the Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake areas.
* The Provider/babysitter is a childcare specialist working in the family's home, responsible for all tasks related to care of the children.
The Provider/babysitter will serve as a loving, nurturing and trustworthy companion to all children.
Responsibilities include caring for, engaging, interacting, and playing with children anywhere from newborn to age 17.
Providers/babysitters have daily opportunities to work and are able to create their own schedule.
There are MANY opportunities for bonuses, raises, and tips.
*Required Qualifications:*
* 18 years or older
* High School Diploma
* Reliable transportation
* Must be able to pass a State and Federal background check
* Infant and Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification (upon hire)
* At least 1 year of childcare experience

*Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:*
* General knowledge and experience of children newborn to 17 years of age
* Ability to maintain confidential files and information
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, children, coworkers and management
* Employ a variety of education techniques to teach children (storytelling, educational play, etc.
)
* Be willing to clean and tidy any play areas
* Assist and coordinate snacks and meals (prepare, provide, and clean up)
* Assist with nap time and bathroom activities when necessary
* Maintain professional appearance by adhering to the guidelines offered in training

*Minimum Work Requirements:*
* 20 hours per week
* 1 weekend job per week (Friday or Saturday)
* 2 on call shifts per month (to be discussed at interview)
* Infant and Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification (obtain after hire)
* Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
(in relation to care of children)
* Must be able to walk up and down stairs
* Valid driver's license and auto insurance
