*Job Overview*:
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Lead Summer Camp STEM Instructor.
As a STEM instructor, you will play a crucial role in creating a fun and safe environment for children to learn, grow, and have unforgettable summer experiences at our centers.
We offer flexible schedules, a small classroom setting, and unique weekly lessons related to STEM and video games.
\*Please note that this is a seasonal position and you must be over 18 to apply for a lead position.
If you have an interest in continuing in a part time position during the school year, we can work together to find a position that works with your schedule.
For those under 18 who have an interest in applying, please apply as an assistant camp instructor/coding instructor.
*Responsibilities:*
- Educate and engage campers in various activities related to STEM and video games, such as coding in Roblox and Minecraft, LEGO robotics, and digital art design.
- No coding experience needed! We will offer paid training leading up to the summer camp season.
- Provide guidance and supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all campers
- Plan and lead age-appropriate games, lessons, and group activities using pre made lessons and activities for ages 7-14.
However, leads are more than welcome to create their own fun lessons related to the week's topic.
- Collaborate with other instructors and the center director to create a positive and inclusive camp environment
- Maintain open communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive camper behavior
- Foster a sense of community and teamwork among campers
*Qualifications:*
- Experience working with children or students aged 7-14 in a professional setting (e.
g.
, summer camps, schools, daycare centers)
- First aid and CPR certifications are not required, but highly recommended.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding towards campers of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Classroom management skills are beneficial for maintaining order during group activities
