We inviting candidates with strong hospitality maintenance experience, leadership skills and outstanding integrity to apply for our Chief Engineer position immediately to lead our team of staff maintenance engineers and provide exceptional guest service.
What You Will Bring To This Role
The Chief Engineer is responsible for all administrative, financial and operating aspects of the hotel as they directly relate to the engineering division.
He/she is responsible for the safe and profitable operation of the hotel.
Some of Your Responsibilities Would Be:
Complete special projects assigned periodically by the General Manager and Assistant General Manager.
Complete maintenance work orders from all departments on a timely basis.
Participate in the preventative maintenance program for all building equipment and rooms.
Train, supervise, and lead engineers, assist with scheduling, and assist with performance management.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year experience as a supervisor in an engineering department, preferentially in the hospitality industry.
Working knowledge of all electrical supplies and equipment.
Knowledge of proper chemical handling and disposal.
Working knowledge of:
health codes
electrical codes
national/local fire codes
local mechanical codes
blue prints and wiring schematics
power and hand tools, meters, etc.
as it relates to the technical trades
Good understanding of the English language.
Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Compute mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers)
Ability to:
interpret manufacturer's literature for installation, preparation, use and upkeep of various materials and products used throughout the property.
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous hotel experience
High school graduate or equivalent vocational training.
Certification or completion of seminars for specialized training.
Ability to perform basic carpentry skills.
Physical Abilities:
Exert physical effort in lifting/transporting at least 50 pounds.
Push/pull carts and other equipment up to 100 pounds.
Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
Reach overhead
Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers.
