Bookkeeper

The bookkeeper position creates financial transactions and generates reports from that information.
The creation of financial transactions includes posting information to accounting journals or accounting software from such source documents as bank statements, credit card statements, and cash receipts.
The bookkeeper also reconciles accounts to ensure their accuracy.
Principal Accountabilities: * Conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank and/or credit card account * Prepare and issue financial statements * Build relationship with clients and communicate on regular basis * Maintain an orderly accounting filing system * Maintain the chart of accounts * Provide clerical and administrative support to firm as requested * Follow accounting policies and procedures * Prepare and file sales taxes to government and local agencies as applicable * Process payroll in a timely manner * Assemble information for external auditors for client's annual insurance audits * Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements Candidate should have knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles.
Preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge of the QuickBooks accounting software for online and desktop.
Should be very detailed oriented, be punctual, and have excellent communication and writing skills.
