We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Accountant 3 to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing the company's indirect (business license, sales and use, personal property, unclaimed) tax returns by examining accounts and records and computing tax returns according to prescribed rates, laws, and regulations.
The Tax Accountant 3 will also audit financial records to determine tax liability, prepare claims for tax refunds, maintain tax records, prepare routine and special tax reports, and advise management regarding business, internal programs, and activities as they relate to tax matters.

Responsibilities: I want to and can do that! • Prepare state, and local tax returns by examining accounts and records and computing tax returns according to prescribed rates, laws, and regulations.
• Audit financial records to determine tax liability and identify any discrepancies or errors.
• Prepare claims for tax refunds and maintain tax records.
• Prepare routine and special tax reports as required by management.
• Advise management regarding business, internal programs, and activities as they relate to tax matters.
• Keep up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Provide support to other departments as needed regarding tax matters.
Requirements: I have already done that or have it! • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; or 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tax accounting.
• Strong knowledge of state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Experience/Bonus Points: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
Physical Requirements Minimal mobility, dexterity, or coordination required to operate common business machines.
Maximum lifting required is approximately 40 pounds from floor to three feet in height.
