Job Description
Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay has an Accounting Internship.
The purpose of this position is to provide a 4 to 6 month paid Internship opportunity to gain experience, extra college credits and insights into Accounting functions at WCBAY.
Schedule: Flexible, Monday - Friday
What will I do?
Our Accounting & Administrative Intern is responsible for successfully completing daily tasks and/or projects as assigned, as well as completing all assigned tasks in a timely manner while exhibiting the our Core Values (Respect, Passion and Professionalism).
Additionally, you will:
Assist in preparing journal entries, analyzing general ledger accounts, reviewing actual vs.
budget variances and preparing variance explanations.
Assist with the annual external audit process, including but not limited to gathering the required information, preparing requested schedules and answering audit questions.
Assist in preparing of the annual budget process.
Assist in Presenting and reporting data related to financial activities.
Reconcile bank accounts monthly and research any variances.
Become familiar with the financial business structure.
Learn and utilize various accounting methods as it relates to business processes.
Gain experience managing projects in a professional setting.
Basic qualifications for this role:
Full-time student enrolled in an accredited College or University
Pursuing a degree program with a major in Business Administration or Accounting and completed at least two (2) years of coursework
Technical skills are a must
Business Math proficiency
Demonstrate ability to interact with people at various corporate levels
Demonstrate ability to solve problems independently and collaboratively in a team
Demonstrate ability to organize and prioritize work, multi-task and work well under pressure
Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Access, and Powerpoint
