The Accounting Manager reports to the Director of Accounting and is primarily responsible for managing the accounting processes for the Community Tax segment, an affiliate of Liberty Tax Service, including the monthly close process, revenue recognition, and expense tracking.
* Manage a Staff Accountant and ensure all tasks are being completed accurately and on a timely basis * Manage / execute the monthly revenue recognition process under ASC 606 * Manage / execute the monthly close process, including maintaining the closing checklist and accrual analysis * Analyze expenses / spend for key cost drivers, including payroll, marketing, and outside services * Preparation and/or review of monthly account reconciliations * Preparation of monthly performance and variance reporting to Senior Management * Lead efforts to identify and improve processes and procedures * Review / monitor customer invoicing and outside lending partner receivables for compliance and accuracy * Other tasks as required, including cross-training with Accounting management.
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance * 4+ years of total experience with escalating levels of responsibility, including people management * Strong analytical and organizational skills * Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced excel skills are required * Hands-on experience in the financial close process * Great Plains, Hyperion, and Microsoft Power BI experience a plus.
* Spanish speaking a plus.
